2017 will be the year of the Wi-Fi Aware, as Wi-Fi Aware is a simple way for marketers/retailers to communicate with customers in physical locations. This Wi-Fi Aware technology has been released by Wi-Fi Alliance, a non-profit organization that promotes Wi-Fi technology, in the year 2015. Wi-Fi Aware (sometimes shortened to just Aware), allows Wi-Fi enabled devices in proximity, to discover and communicate with each other without depending on Cellular data or Internet. Once two users are within range of each other, they can communicate or share files. Both the devices don’t even need Internet. Wi-Fi Aware is also known as Neighborhood Aware Networking (NAN).

Difference between Wi-Fi Aware and Wi-Fi Direct
